Hundreds of residents and visitors attended the Christmas light switch-on in Eastbourne town centre on Saturday November 25 – organised by Your Eastbourne BID.

The town centre has been illuminated for the festive season to make the town even more attractive for residents and visitors to do their Christmas shopping.

Local community arts group Angelica Vocal Academy pressed the button to officially switch on the lights at the
Terminus Road event.

Your Eastbourne BID reinstalled the lights from last year, covering all areas within the BID, and also invested in a new display in Terminus Road, from Bankers Corner to Blacks.

The festive switch-on also illuminated the popular interactive LED Christmas tree on Bankers Corner – which has been a hit with residents and visitors in previous years.

The BID also commissioned Christmas trees for Little Chelsea, Victoria Place, and the Beacon Centre.

Visitors to the event enjoyed the sounds of the Live Music Stage from 12pm, and there were 35 market stalls along Terminus Road selling gifts, Christmas goodies, and festive treats including a hog roast and mulled wine.

Stephen Holt, Your Eastbourne BID CEO, said, “The Christmas light switch-on was a fantastic event and we were thrilled
that so many people turned out. “After the success of last year, we wanted to make this year’s festive lights even bigger and better. Thanks to everyone who took part – especially the Angelica Vocal Academy.”
